Ft. Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge is 19,131 acres in size. Is is a place where east meets west, north meets south... six different plant communities converge along the Niobrara River on Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge, thereby providing habitat for a rich and unusual diversity of wildlife. There is a refuge headquarters and interpretive center as well as a viewing pasture where you can drive through and see bison, elk, deer, prairie dogs, burrowing owls and a variety of other wildlife.  There are also hiking trails and nature trails where you can not only view wildlife, Ft. Falls and a diverse plant community  but also beautiful scenery.
